A network module RFQ should be simple, but many shutdown delays start with missing details. The buyer sends a model photo. The supplier asks for revision. The engineer is off shift. The quote waits. During a shutdown week, that lost time matters.
TOPNLMS recommends preparing network module RFQs before the maintenance window is approved. This applies to PLC Ethernet cards, remote I/O adapters, communication processors, gateways, and small industrial switches.
Five details to send first
Send the exact model number, hardware revision, firmware version if visible, quantity, and required condition. Add clear photos of the front label, side label, connector area, and installed cabinet position. If the module has terminal plugs or accessories, mention whether those are required.
Also include destination country and target delivery date. A quote without delivery context is incomplete because availability and freight can change the real answer.
Why revision matters
Two modules with the same family name may not behave the same. Revision can affect configuration software, protocol support, and compatibility with an older PLC or HMI. If the spare is for restart after a shutdown, ask engineering before accepting a substitute.
FAQ
Is one photo enough?
No. Send multiple photos plus the written model number and revision.
Should I request new or used condition?
State what the plant will accept: new surplus, tested used, refurbished, or factory sealed only.
What is the most common missing RFQ detail?
Revision information and delivery destination are the most common gaps.
Can TOPNLMS check a model list?
Yes. Send the list, photos, quantity, condition requirement, and shutdown date.
Need a fast model check? Send TOPNLMS your network module details before the shutdown window so the quote can be structured correctly.
